This past weekend saw the Glenwood 1st XI hockey team participate in the inaugural Belgotex Sport Kearsney Hockey Fives tournament. Hockey Fives is the latest format of the game that has been introduced by FIH. It is a fast paced exciting version of the sport that encourages players to show their skills and flair. Glenwood Soccer vs Northwood

Saturday the 19th of August 2017 saw the Glenwood 1st XI take on Northwood High School away from home in Durban North. The Glenwood 1st XI sustained a few injuries midweek as they successfully defended their crown of Umlazi District champions, midweek, defeating Sishosonke Secondary School 6-0 in the final. Glenwood started off strong, opting to revert to a 4-3-3 formation, which was a more attacking approach and it yielded in many chances being created early on. The High School 7’s Series will kick-off again this weekend after taking a break with tournaments at Glenwood in Durban as well as at Hoërskool Rustenburg. The tournament in Durban promises to produce some highlights as Glenwood, Durban High School, Westville Boys’ High, Bergvlam from Nelspruit and Northwood will be the eying some silverware.
