1st Team Basketball Report: St Charles College versus Clifton College

St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, travelled to the outdoor courts of Clifton this last week and unfortunately it was the elements which dictated much of the game. With a howling wind in play, the game was limited to fast break points and an inside presence from the team’s big men. Outside shooting was severely affected and as a result, teams were able to sit in a tight zone for the majority of the game. SPORTS AWARDS – 2017:  Glenwood High School, Durban, held its Annual Sports Awards on Wednesday 18 October 2017. Almost 200 awards were handed out on the night, showing why Glenwood sporting boys and coaches are regarded as some of the best in the Country. Their achievements were suitably acknowledged. Glenwood High School in Durban, participated in Top Ten Water Polo

The Top Ten Water Polo Tournament was held across Durban this weekend from 13-15 October 2017. Glenwood U14A, U15A and U19A teams represented at the tournament. The U14 team played at Westville and the U15 team played at Northwood, both teams finished 9th on the log. The 1st team U19A age group competed at Clifton and were defending their title from 2016. They played their pool games against Northwood beating them 4-2 on Friday night. Life-saving Skills at St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg

As part of their cultural club choices, the boys in the Prep School of St Charles College, have been given the opportunity to take part in lessons with Sr Morag van Deventer. During these classes, the boys will learn valuable life-saving skills, such as CPR, Heimlich manoeuvre for choking (in babies, children and adults), some first aid, and basic steps in dealing with an emergency, and making a call to emergency services.
