Saturday the 19th of August 2017 saw the Glenwood 1st XI take on Northwood High School away from home in Durban North. The Glenwood 1st XI sustained a few injuries midweek as they successfully defended their crown of Umlazi District champions, midweek, defeating Sishosonke Secondary School 6-0 in the final. Saturday 5th of August saw the undefeated Glenwood 1st XI take on Pinetown Boys High School at Glenwood home ground, Stella. A bout of flu that has been going around forced some changes to be made to the Glenwood side that beat PMB College 7-2, in the previous week. Following a lengthy process of close observation and monitoring, head coach of the South African U17 Boy’s National Team, Molefi Ntseki, has unveiled a 25 man squad to compete in the upcoming U17 COSAFA Cup set to take place in Mauritius from 21-30 July. Glenwood High School in Durban’s Thabani Gumede (Grade 9) has been selected as part of this team. Ntseki will conduct one final training session where he will have to drop four more players to complete the required 21-man squad that will represent the nation at the regional showpiece.
