There was great excitement in the air on Tuesday morning as the Grade 1 boys arrived at St. Charles College, for their first day of Junior Primary! Learner of Glenwood obtains black belt in Karate

Brayden Mc Carthy, grade 12 learner of Glenwood High School 2017, obtains his black belt in Karate. Brayden Mc Carthy (Gr 12 2017) started Karate as a white belt in 2011 with the International Federation of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa. He progressed through his belt grading’s and attended many tournaments and championships including the yearly Regional and National Championships where he always obtained a medal for 1st, 2nd or 3rd for his age/belt division. For the second year, the Grade 4 boys at St Charles College took on an outreach project whereby the boys were able to give and share with those less fortunate than themselves. This year we put together 27 Christmas Boxes for Angels’ Care Centre in Howick, who are extremely grateful to have our boys support their needs this Christmas. Angels’ Care Centre is a non-profit organisation established to address the needs of underprivileged children from informal settlements in the village of Howick.
