The Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School choir won gold in the ATKV – Applous Choir Competition which was hosted at GHS this year. Last year the choir took part in the less experienced, non-Afrikaans speaking choir category, and received a second place in the final round. There is no category for non-Afrikaans speaking advanced choirs, so the next level up was for them was to participate in the same category as Advanced Afrikaans speaking choirs which is where they claimed gold. The Choir is also competing in the World Choir Games in July in Pretoria.
